Specialized Psychotherapy For Those in Higher Education and Health Professions
Are you experiencing chronic anxiety, low mood, or emotional fatigue? Are you navigating a challenging life transition, such as starting a new school or job, becoming a parent, or going through a break-up or divorce? Do you feel that your actions are misaligned with your values?
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with young adults and adults seeking help for mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, life transitions, and career burnout, and who would like to change patterns of thinking and behaving that are getting in the way of the life they would like to live.
While many individuals face these challenges, those in academia, healthcare, and other demanding fields are particularly vulnerable. I have specific expertise in working with individuals in higher education, including faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and university staff. As both a university professor and licensed psychologist, I have unique insight into the challenges facing those in academia. I have also worked extensively with individuals working in healthcare (e.g., nursing, medicine, veterinary medicine, and mental healthcare) as well as other high-demanding professions, including law and business.
My therapeutic approach is personalized to your specific concerns and goals for therapy. I blend cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), client-centered therapy, and psychodynamic therapy into my work, which allows for not only symptom relief, but also the ability to explore long-standing patterns to facilitate deeper psychological change.
I am a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts and Connecticut and a registered out-of-state telehealth psychologist in Florida. I can provide virtual psychotherapy services to clients residing in any of those states.
Individual Psychotherapy
$250 per 60-minute psychotherapy session
I offer virtual psychotherapy services to clients residing in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida using secure, HIPAA-compliant technology. Sessions are typically held weekly, but can vary based upon your treatment needs and goals.
Treatment can be short-term or long-term, dependent upon your preferences and objectives. Symptom relief can often occur within a few sessions, whereas changing deeper psychological functioning and relationship patterns typically requires a longer course of therapy. Following an in-depth initial assessment, I will provide you with my clinical recommendations, and together we will develop a treatment plan individually suited to your problem areas and aims for therapy.
I am in-network with the following insurance plans:
Aetna (Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida)
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut
Carelon Behavioral Health (Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida)
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (pending)
If I am out-of-network with your insurance, I can provide you with paperwork you can submit for partial reimbursement, dependent upon your out-of-network benefits.
